Java Java Basics Getting Started with Java IO

I keep getting a compiler error message when I type in this:

import java.io.Console;

public class Name {

  public static void main(String[] args) {
    Console console = System.console();
    String firstName = console.readLine("What is your name? ");
    console printf("Hello, my name is %s\n", firstName);
    console printf(%s is learning how to write Java\n", firstName);
                   }
}

Hi there,

You don't need the whole main class.

You just need to assign the value into the variable name. To use your code, the first task only requires:

String firstName = console.readLine("What is your name? ");

Good luck!

Steve.
