I have XAMPP installed ( on windows 7 32bit) and tried to install mysql but there is a error message saying It requires 64bit. I tried to find a 32 bit version but nothing seems installing. Is there any way I can use XAMPP to run mysql without installing mysql installer? thank you.

Do you have this directory C:/xampp/mysql?
If the MySQL component installed you should have logs that you can google to help you find out what the issues might be, if you have the directory C:/xampp/mysql/data/ look in mysql.log.
Are you sure you got the 32bit XAMP installer? Try uninstalling and cleaning out any leftover directories and files, then reinstall XAMP again - XAMP Downloads
I find the best way to deal with XAMP is to install it in a virtual environment, in this way you can run XAMP on Windows or Linux and take snapshots before the XAMP install, or when making changes in case things go wrong you can more easily go back. In addition, it might take more time and effort to setup a virtual environment however, you can take the install with you when you move to a new computer, only needing to go through this process once.
