Hi Monique, every browsers add a default margin and padding to several HTML elements. Try to add :

body {
   margin: 0;
   padding: 0;
}

This is called a 'reset' and you can find a lot of reset stylesheets on the web, here is one of the most popular : http://meyerweb.com/

But it might not be your issue. If this doesn't work, could you post a screenshot of your page so we can precisely spot your problem.
