Business How to Run a Web Design Business Marketing and Promotion What Doesn't Work

I got success on Freelancer.com now what?

Hello, My question is from Paul, as also saw your Interviews, your website and now watching your series and i know you can help me out with my question. SO, I signed up for freelancer.com in April and till now i got 11+ Jobs and earned 2000$, i know which is now huge as it's only 200$ per project, Now i stopped bidding as i already have lot of work to done, also need to study as i just passed my higher secondary education. So can i open a company or website with some other coders and designers? or keep bidding on freelaner.com? Can i make full time or lifetime business and earning on Freelancer.com?

Please help me out, thanks :)

It sounds like you need to decide whether you want to work alone as a freelancer or join with peer designers. My initial thought is that you ought to be careful starting a partnership if you don't know the ins and outs of protecting yourself in business. My second thought is to do what I would do if I had that much business coming in regularly - hire a freelancer to do some of the work. And third, you'll probably need to watch your sales over time to be sure that jobs will keep coming in, before committing yourself to any long-term hired help or a partnership. There certainly seems to be a balance on freelance sites, where you need to look busy to gain more jobs, but also finish jobs quickly so you don't irritate any of the buyers-in-waiting. My guess is you probably could benefit from finding a quality freelancer who would do some of the lowest-skill tasks that you can oversee without much effort. You need to be good at giving clear job instructions to them so they deliver exactly what you need for your clients.

Meanwhile keep a look out for a compatible business partner, and plan carefully for things that could go wrong. An alternative is a work buddy who takes on your extra work when you need help, and you do the same for them when they have a high workload. Sometimes you both may get lots of work, and other times none at all, and that's just the life of a business operator. With experience you can plan for the highs and lows and seek extra help only when needed.

Thanks for you Nice Advice!. I already Hired Some of best Developers and Designers from Freelancer and they all are working fine, just wanted to build a Portfolio website so can get new client and can build long time relationship with existing clients :)

If you have done 11+ projects and like the outcome it would probably be a good idea to put up a web-site portfolio to show your work, and if you want to freelance start a business. And I don't think Mr. Boag is on Treehouse.
