WordPress How to Install WordPress on Your Computer How to Install WordPress on Your Computer Installing WordPress with DesktopServer

I get a blank page when i try to go to the install.php

I followed the steps in this video. Until i got to the part where you had to go to the ****.dev/wp-admin/install.php part. I got a blank page instead and don't know how to fix it.

I also have this problem when I click on the ".php" link. I get "object not found!" webpage. is this the same page that comes up for you?

I have exactly the same problem; I get to the "dev/wp-admin/install.php" part and it takes me to a blank web page - no error message, just a blank screen. Can anyone offer any assistance?

I had the same problem and it took me...3 hours today to figure out how to make it work. I'm running windows 10/chrome 49.0 and a google search link to the serverpress website helped me diagnose & fix b/c windows wasn't allowing me to run desktopserver/wordpress locally. I hope this helps someone out there avoid wasting half a day!

Thank you David Baker. Awesome tips. Clicked on allowed access if you have Apache running for Java or other programs.

Can you confirm that wordpress was indeed installed in the location it said it was going to be?

Have I missed something? I have watched the videos up to this point.

I have added the XAMP file into the C Drive, was I supposed to do something else? Thanks

OK, been playing some more using the the online help at Desktop Server. I have changed some settings in control panel. Now I am getting this message:

This site can’t be reached

wpdemo1.dev refused to connect. Search Google for wpdemo 1 dev admin install

Any clues??

Thanks

Mark

Mark, I'm not familiar with the Desktop Software server at all, however, it has to function like any other server software so I am familiar with the concepts.

I watched the video, and the step before Zac clicks on the link, it shows the location where Wordpress was going to be installed on your computer. What I would do first is navigate to that location in your file explorer, and visually confirm that wordpress has indeed been downloaded to the location desktop server expects it to be.

I run window 7 and I also get the blank page once I click on the link .......install.php Did you guys figure out how to make it work?
