3,141 PointsI don't understand what Challenge #3 of 3 is asking to be completed
For Challenge #3 of 3, I formatted my code to replace the hardcoded message that was first included, and I saw that my code successfully used my new arrays to replicate the hardcoded message in the Editor. But I'm getting an error message that I should not be changing the output.
<?php
//edit this array
$contacts = array('Alena Holligan', 'Dave McFarland', 'Treasure Porth', 'Andrew Chalkley');
$contacts[0]= array('name'=>'Alena Holligan', 'email'=>'alena.holligan@teamtreehouse.com');
$contacts[1]= array('name'=>'Dave McFarland', 'email'=>'dave.mcfarland@teamtreehouse.com');
$contacts[2]= array('name'=>'Treasure Porth', 'email'=>'treasure.porth@teamtreehouse.com');
$contacts[3]= array('name'=>'Andrew Chalkley', 'email'=>'andrew.chalkley@teamtreehouse.com');
echo "<ul>\n";
//$contacts[0] will return 'Alena Holligan' in our simple array of names.
echo "<li>" . $contacts[0]['name'] . ": " . $contacts[0]['email'] . "</li>\n";
echo "<li>" . $contacts[1]['name'] . ": " . $contacts[1]['email'] . "</li>\n";
echo "<li>" . $contacts[2]['name'] . ": " . $contacts[2]['email'] . "</li>\n";
echo "<li>" . $contacts[3]['name'] . ": " . $contacts[3]['email'] . "</li>\n";
echo "</ul>\n";

28,558 PointsThe original strings that were echoed had a space both before and after the colon that separates the name and email. In your code there is only a space after the colon, not before it.
If you fix that like this:
<?php
//edit this array
$contacts = array('Alena Holligan', 'Dave McFarland', 'Treasure Porth', 'Andrew Chalkley');
$contacts[0]= array('name'=>'Alena Holligan', 'email'=>'alena.holligan@teamtreehouse.com');
$contacts[1]= array('name'=>'Dave McFarland', 'email'=>'dave.mcfarland@teamtreehouse.com');
$contacts[2]= array('name'=>'Treasure Porth', 'email'=>'treasure.porth@teamtreehouse.com');
$contacts[3]= array('name'=>'Andrew Chalkley', 'email'=>'andrew.chalkley@teamtreehouse.com');
echo "<ul>\n";
//$contacts[0] will return 'Alena Holligan' in our simple array of names.
echo "<li>" . $contacts[0]['name'] . " : " . $contacts[0]['email'] . "</li>\n";
echo "<li>" . $contacts[1]['name'] . " : " . $contacts[1]['email'] . "</li>\n";
echo "<li>" . $contacts[2]['name'] . " : " . $contacts[2]['email'] . "</li>\n";
echo "<li>" . $contacts[3]['name'] . " : " . $contacts[3]['email'] . "</li>\n";
echo "</ul>\n";
Then your code will be accepted.
