I dont understand the question

"Finally, notice that our Spaceship class has a new field to store the number of passengers in the ship. Use the method to get the number of passengers for mSpaceship, and then set the text for mPassengersField to this value. Note: You will need to convert the int value to a String!" use what method?

LandingActivity.java
import android.os.Bundle;
import android.view.View;
import android.widget.Button;
import android.widget.EditText;

public class LandingActivity extends Activity {

    public Button mThrustButton;
    public TextView mTypeLabel;
    public EditText mPassengersField;

    public Spaceship mSpaceship;

    @Override
    public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
        super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
        setContentView(R.layout.activity_landing);

        mThrustButton = (Button)findViewById(R.id.thrustButton);
        mTypeLabel = (TextView)findViewById(R.id.typeTextView);
        mPassengersField = (EditText)findViewById(R.id.passengersEditText);

        // Add your code here!
        mSpaceship = new Spaceship("FIREFLY");
        mTypeLabel.setText(mSpaceship.getType());
    }
}
Spaceship.java
public class Spaceship {
    private String mType;
    private int mNumPassengers = 0;

    public String getType() {
      return mType;
    }

    public void setType(String type) {
      mType = type;
    }

    public int getNumPassengers() {
      return mNumPassengers;
    }

    public void setNumPassengers(int numPassengers) {
      mNumPassengers = numPassengers;
    }

    public Spaceship() {
      mType = "SHUTTLE";
    }

    public Spaceship(String type) {
      mType = type;
    }
}

Hi Kris,

You want to call getNumPassengers() on mSpaceship and assign that using setText() to mPassengersField. Because getNumPassengers() returns an integer and you need a string for the mPassengersField, use a "moosh", i.e. add an empty string to the end of the getNumPassengers call:

        mSpaceship = new Spaceship("FIREFLY");
        mTypeLabel.setText(mSpaceship.getType());
        mPassengersField.setText(mSpaceship.getNumPassengers() + "");

I hope that helps,

Steve.

Thank you Steve, this solved it for me but where is the NumPassengers getter declared?

Hi Kris,

The method getNumPassengers is called on an instance of Spaceship. You'll find the method defined in the Spaceship class.

Steve.
