UX Design Techdegree Graduate 22,796 PointsYou are on the right path just a small mishap - You are comparing 2 Strings - firstExample & SecondExample. secondExample variable has already been declared as a String so you should not put it inside the quote marks. when you put the secondExample inside the quotation marks you have just created another String which will never pass the equality check.

String firstExample = "hello";
String secondExample = "hello";

if(firstExample.equals(secondExample)){
