i dont know what im doing wrong

def square (number): return number*number

number = input("what number to Square?") answer = square(number)

print("the answer is().".format(answer))

You are receiving an error because the code checker will not respond to the input function. The only code you need for task 1 is the first two lines:

def square(number):
    return number*number
