12,600 PointsHere is the answer. You need to put the twitterClient_Update call into the runnable constructor. Then set up a new thread, name it then start it. The code is below. :)

setContentView(R.layout.activity_main);
Runnable runnable = new Runnable() {
@Override
public void run() {
twitterClient.update();
}
};
Thread thread = new Thread(runnable);
thread.setName("TwitterThread");
