3,495 PointsI don't get it. it still says Bummer! Make sure you are using `equalsIgnoreCase` on the `firstExample` variable and use
what is the point?
// I have imported a java.io.Console for you, it is named console.
String firstExample = "hello";
String secondExample = "hello";
String thirdExample = "HELLO";
if(firstExample.equalsIgnoreCase("hello")){
console.printf("first and third are the same by ignoring cases");
}

57,712 PointsHi there,
You want to compare firstExample
to thirdExample
using the equalsIgnoreCase()
method. You've compared firstExample
to a string literal of "hello
". So, pass thirdExample
into the equalsIgnoreCase()
method - don't use inverted commas, though! Chain the method onto firstExample
using dot notation.
Also, you need to leave the code from the first part of the challenge in place else the second part won't pass. Don't overwrite or delete any code - just add the second task to the bottom.
Steve.
