I don't get it.

I don't really get how I should do this challenge

import re

string = 'Perotto, Pier Giorgio'

names = re.match(r'^(?<name>[-\w ]*, \s[-\w ]+)\t', string)

You're getting close, but

  • the instructions say "The pattern should provide two groups", but this code defines only one
  • the letter "P" is missing from the group naming syntax
  • the groups for this challenge don't need names (and no names were specified in the instructions)
  • the function is missing the "re.X" third argument
  • the expression is requiring two spaces (one via \s) after the comma
  • the expression requires a tab to be present at the end of the string
