console.printf(" %s printing %d, some stuff %s", someVariable, someOtherVariable, anotherVariable);
As you can see, it has variable(s) after the string.
you are missing the variables to be inserted in place of the format specifiers:
String name = console.readLine("Enter your name: ");
String pastTenseVerb = console.readLine("Enter a pastTenseVerb: ");
console.printf(" %s really %s", name, pastTenseVerb);
