JavaScript JavaScript Basics Working with Strings Combine and Manipulate Strings

I cant seem to string past variables with a new one, i cant figure out whats wrong with the code.

app.js
let firstName;
let lastName;
let role = 'developer';
firstName += "Jack";
lastName += "Taturyan";
let msg = firstName + " " lastName ":" + role + ".";

The code seems to be missing the + symbols to join the literal strings to the lastName.

Also, I don't think the challenge wants a period added at the end.

i fixed that but it still shows error

Try showing the code as you have it now.

Steven Parker let firstName;

let lastName;

let role = 'developer';

firstName += "Jack";

lastName += "Taturyan";

let msg = firstName + " " lastName ":" + role ;

Still missing + signs before and after lastName.

Also, when posting code, be sure to use Markdown formatting to preserve the code's appearance (like in the question itself).
