the float function in python doesn't work for strings.
def add(num1, num2):
return.float(num1 + num2)

Front End Web Development Techdegree Graduate 33,271 Pointsright now you are calling float as a method on return, which doesn't work. they want you to convert to float before returning, so in the line above your return, which can still just be num1 + num2, cast each to a float - like a = float(a).
