I can't acces phpMyAdmin on MAMP. I get a warning ' needs 5.5.x to 7.0.x'. Should i remove earlier versions?

The phpMyAdmin is grey instead of black and I can't access this area. I get the warning mentioned above. What should i do?

Hi Tessa, try this. Go to MAMP -> Preferences -> PHP -> Enable option "Standard version 7.0.15.

Hi Valentino, changing the PHP version in MAMP works. Have you tried that yet?

Hi there, I am having the same issue. I try changing the PHP version from 7.1.1 to 7.0.15, but it after the server restarts it seems to revert back to the original 7.1.1 version. Any thoughts on how to resolve this?

EDIT: I went inside Application -> MAMP -> bin -> php and changed the php7.1.1 file to php7.1.1.dis, to disable the latest version. After restarting mamp this allowed me to access the phpMyAdmin. I am not sure if this is the correct thing to do, but too late.

Thanks!! I had the same issue and going to MAMP preferences and selecting the other php version before starting my server allowed me to select the phpMyAdmin tab. Previously it was grey for me.

They need to update their vids to the latest software (but props to them for making them in the first place - generally amazing!)

Thanks guys, I was having the same problem,and the solution worked, and yes they should update their tutorials to use latest software.
