Courses Plus Student 931 PointsI am having difficulty understanding how to make an instance of a class and assign it to a constant.
I have done this one before but I cannot seem to pass it now.
// Enter your code below
class Shape {
var numberOfSides: Int
init(numberOfSides: Int) {
self.numberOfSides = 4
let someShape = Shape
}
}

23,970 PointsHi Tanner -
You have initialized everything correctly Great Job! When it comes to creating an instance you need to pass in the values that you initialized. In this case it would be the numberOfSides; implement that and you are good to go
class Shape {
var numberOfSides: Int
init(numberOfSides: Int) {
self.numberOfSides = numberOfSides
}
}
let someShape = Shape(numberOfSides: 4)

5,224 PointsI was having the same issue. I think the wording of the last sentence: "Once you have a class definition, create an instance and assign it to a constant named someShape." is very confusing. Instead of "assign it" they should say "assign the Shape's property to a constant..." or something like that. Using "it" in the same sentence as "create an instance" is very confusing.
