1,644 PointsI am getting wrong number of prints on this exercise.
I checked the line of codes in python IDE and it's working fine, where as getting error message on this exercise "Wrong number of prints", not sure why?
import random
def even_odd(num):
# If % 2 is 0, the number is even.
# Since 0 is falsey, we have to invert it with not.
return not num % 2
start = 5
while start:
rand_num = random.randint(1,99)
if even_odd(rand_num):
print("{} is even, putting the random number in hole".format(rand_num))
break
else:
print("{} is odd, again using random number".format(rand_num))
start -= 1

return not num % 2
start = 5
while start:
rand_num = random.randint(1,99)
if even_odd(rand_num):
print("{} is even".format(rand_num)) # Changed print statement, Removed 'break'
else:
print("{} is odd".format(rand_num)) # Changed print statement
start -= 1
It didn't work because when the random number was even, it broke the while loop, thus not continuing. Although, statistically, every 32 times running this program would work. (0.5⁵ chance of being odd 5 times in a row = 1/32 chance) ;-)
