I am confused, how to i turn the arguments into a float?

Not quite sure how to get the float function to work! Please help!

trial.py 
def add(a,b):
    try:
    return float(a)+ float(b)

In you code you have converted them to floats, it is 100% correct, however the issue is with the try and except.

You can see the try and except decision block below.

Have a look at the docs for more on try and except. always good practice.

Hope it works.

    try:
        return float(a) + float(b)
    except ValueError:
        return None
