Hypothesis Example

I'm a little confused about the hypothesis example. The hypothesis says that moms will pay for the device if it is fun and makes their shopping experience faster. After they say they'll know the hypothesis is true if 1) Moms use it efficiently 2) The kids are having fun.

Wouldn't the hypothesis be true only if they proved that the moms will pay for the device? Before that, don't they have to determine that the device actually makes shopping faster?

I don't understand how using the prototype efficiently qualifies as a testable, provable metric.

I think your reading more into the question than is needed. By what you have typed the hypothesis is true when "the kid are having fun"

The hypothesis or possible outcomes never says "if it is payed for".
