Courses Plus Student 63 PointsHTML, CSS, Javascript VS Wix.com and Squarespace.com
Will websites like six.com and squarespace.com make programming languages needed to develop websites obsolete? Do we really need languages to develop websites now that sites like wix and squarespace are here? What are the advantages and disadvantages of both sides?

Sorry for that; had to get that out of my system. As much as I want to call you retarded for asking this question (and phrasing it the way you did), I can't. For the sake of keeping this community as friendly as possible. However, let me answer your question. NO. Sites like Wix, Weebly and Squarespace will NEVER make CSS, HTML and JavaScript obsolete. Why the heck would Google use Squarespace to make their site when they have a HUGE amount of great programmers and front end designers just WAITING there! No. This will never happen. HTML, CSS and JavaScript have way more power than any of those sites will ever have. Yes, we need languages and there's a 99% chance we will always need them.

259 PointsMaybe not stupid, but definitely lazy. Some simple research would have given you the answer.
No those sites will not make developers obsolete. Look at job postings. Do any even list "experience in wix"? No, no they do not.

65,469 PointsI never heard of Wix or SquareSpace, but I'm 99.9999999999999999% sure that JavaScript is a million times more powerful.
Never heard of a person that is called an expert that only knows Wix
Maybe SquareSpace & Wix are cool/useful for a very small project, but for huge websites like Google's search engine or Gmail or Facebook, it is almost impossible to just use a simple thing like Wix or SquareSpace.
JavaScript is a very powerful language that can do almost do anything on the web including 3D games, control Google Maps, and even on the back-end for example an entire new programming language or even a standard application in your Application menu.
I'm just sayin' here: JavaScript is almost guaranteed to be much better and if you know JS you would have a much better background.
Pity Thomas Duff for trying to seem like a newbie should know everything! Don't you understand that will c is brand-new to programming?! Please keep the amazing Treehouse community nice & friendly and not mean.

259 PointsIf you did your research you wouldn't have had to ask.
Sorry, this isn't a "safe space".

Courses Plus Student 63 PointsI'm finalizing my research by asking a community of programmers you idiot. You must have not read my reply to Justin. Have you ever heard of confirmation? Or reading... the response I gave Justin! Wow, you guys are so close minded. I thought programmers were supposed to be smart. You sound like your mad at life, guy. "This isn't a safe space"? Really? Why make it unsafe keyboard warriors?
jrs0801
259 PointsWhy would you need us to confirm?
Also the irony of calling me an idiot, but not knowing the difference between your and you're is quite grand.

Courses Plus Student 63 PointsOh, I'm sorry I'll have somebody proof read my comment next time. Quite grand? umm... not quite. Quite petite? Maybe. Fyi, grammar is not an indication of intelligence, it is a lack of knowledge. Brush up on your logic and reasoning kiddo.

259 PointsYeah, I'm probably old enough to be your father, troll.

Courses Plus Student 63 PointsI don't understand why you have to be so offensive like if I'm supposed to be a computer science whiz all of a sudden. You don't know my background and I don't know why I am expected to know this. That is not how you answer a question. That is like a teacher calling a student an idiot for something she is about to teach him where the student would have no reason to know the answer to the question he/she had. I think your insult kind of backfired because you're the one that doesn't seem so bright after what you said.

3,112 PointsSorry? How am I being aggressive?
I literally said the following in the beginning of my reply: "As much as I want to call you retarded for asking this question (and phrasing it the way you did), I can't. For the sake of keeping this community as friendly as possible."
Now, I don't understand why you're calling me aggressive either nor do I understand why you would think this reply backfired and "I'm the one that doesn't seem so bright after what I said" because you're the one who thought sites like Wix and Squarespace can beat front end web design with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
Alexander Davison I don't expect a newbie to know ANYTHING about programming, but he could've at least done more research before asking this type of question. Also, this is where I agree with Justin Stark the most when he said "Sorry, this isn't a 'safe space'." because it really isn't. Treehouse is a very nice community and I do my best to keep it at that, but when questions like these are asked, there's really no point in being extremely nice to people.
will c I never called you any of the following: IDIOT/STUPID/CLOSED-MINDED/KEYBOARD WARRIOR/RUDE. Guess what you did? Yep, called me and Justin ALL of those. So before assuming we're the rude/offensive/mean/uneducated ones, look at yourself for a second. The fact that you don't know how to spell "Jesus" supports my point even further.

Courses Plus Student 63 PointsMy apologies, I didn't notice you were trying to keep the community friendly. I'll do the same because as as much as I want to call you a moron, I won't do it. I also want to call you an idiot and tell you that you are an arrogant prick who thinks he's better than others because he's afraid to ask questions. But for the sake of the friendliness level on this site, I won't. I really want to tell you that I feel bad for you because of the way you think, but that wouldn't be very nice. So I will refrain from saying all these things because you are right and I am wrong. Also, just because I said what I wanted to say, does not mean I said it and vice versa.
And I don't know how to spell "Jesus"?, you must not know who kanye west west is, you must not know about play on words, and you should google what a sense of humor is. I'm convinced you guys are trolling and will not be responding to any more messages. Everybody that replied here sounds like the type of person that is afraid to ask questions in class because of what everybody else thinks of them. Good luck with that, I heard that is the best medicine for happiness. Sorry if my grammar wasn't on point, professor duff I hope I can at least get a B- for my assignment. I also forgot a comma in the sentence before this, please don't take of ani poynts, please don't.

3,112 PointsWhoa! Thanks for being SO much nicer than me and SO much more mature! I really hope I didn't offend you, your highness.
However, I will let you have your little moment of "I'm superior to others" because you're clearly too ignorant to argue with. I mean, you can't even pass more than 100 points of a freaking HTML class before asking questions. :)
