Python Python Basics (2015) Python Data Types Use .split() and .join()

how to use .split() to break a string apart on the semi-colons (;). Assign this to a new variable sundaes?

I am stuck on this question because I don't know how to assign a splitted list to a new variable.

banana.py
available = "banana split;hot fudge;cherry;malted;black and white"
available.split(";")
sundaes

Hi!

It's very easy to assign a list that has been split. See the example below:

my_list = "12;54;56;75"

nums = my_list.split(";")
