how to set an if condition between two strings without using the ==

in the activity, i was asked to create an if statement that compares both string type data. as i was searching in the internet i come across an answer which is to use ==. i would like to ask if there are other ways in solving this problem

Equality.java
// I have imported a java.io.Console for you, it is named console.
String firstExample = "hello";
String secondExample = "hello";
if (input.equals(firstExample = secondExample))
{
 console.printf("first is equal to second");
}
String thirdExample = "HELLO";
