6,068 PointsHow to get good at Wireframing Websites
Hello everyone,
I'm looking into getting better at wireframing. I feel at times that i'm stuck doing the same wireframing with slight alterations. I want to break out of the "comfort" and do something that stands out. Hopefully this makes sense. I don't know if knowing UX design would help me in this task. Any advice on breaking out?

Honestly it happens to all of us. One of my core responsibilities is creating prototypes and wireframes for the products of my clients. Typically because I'm often wireframing in HTML, you get wrapped up in solve similar problems with the same solution over and over again and it can start to feel boring. "Learning UX Design" isn't really going to change this... because in reality, you're doing UX design right now. Jacob offers some really smart advice. Look at other patterns, architecture, and industrial design. Find inspiration in how they're solving problems to challenge your way of thinking. I try to look at what other UX designers are doing too in how they solve problems, Focus Lab (https://dribbble.com/focuslab) on Dribbble is a great source of inspiration for me as is InVision (https://dribbble.com/InVisionApp).
And most importantly. Keep sketching.
