4,112 Pointshow to do a few tricks in illustrator
Hello out there!
so i've been doing the deep dive on illustrator and while messing around with my new tricks i couldnt do a few things that i imagine are just a click away.
i figured out how to make patterns with my own shapes, but what i would like to do after creating a shape and applying my new pattern into the shapes is-
make the pattern either concave, convex or spiral, so that if i were to say put a dots pattern in a circle it would give the appearance of the circle being rounded or sunk in, ect.
i also want to know if it is possible to create the fading of color when applying the pattern, so say i have the same example as above and i want to make the pattern fade colors from left to right how would i go about that?
thanks for any and all help!

Treehouse Guest TeacherHey demetrios brinkmann ,
Try attaching a dot pattern to the spiral tool path stroke. ā¢ (See the additional shape tools video in Adobe Illustrator stage 3)
When using gradients you can alter the opacity. ā¢ (See the gradients video in Adobe Illustrator stage 4)

4,112 Pointsthank you Mat! I really appreciate the help! I ended up figuring out the whole concave look after playing around with the info I learned in the 3D effects vid on Stage 5.
