24,896 PointsHey Nick! Sometimes the best way to implement our ideas is to create them ourselves. Treehouse offers two fantastic courses for iOS development(iOS development requires an Apple computer but it is possible to do through a technique called virtualization) utilizing the two languages supported by Apple; Swift and Objective-C. Swift is way easier to get going with if you don't have much development experience and after the Swift course you could easily move on to iOS development with Objective-C and be a double threat when it comes to iOS knowledge. They also offer an Android course as well. The forums are a wealth of help too and your fellow Treehousers and the teaching staff always provide great answers. Take a look at the courses and you could be putting your app together before you know it. Good luck!

24,896 PointsVirtualization can be used but sometimes you can see some performance issues with it. The best bet would be if you could get a hold of a Mac. Android is also a great option as well and Android apps can be developed on any of the major OS platforms (OSX,Linux and Windows).
I've included a link for a guide on YouTube on how to set up virtualization on Windows ; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tafqhSUfKnY
As well as a link that describes Desktop virtualization a little better; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desktop_virtualization
