How much is too much?

How much learning of programming is too much a day?

Depends on how much you can withhold and remember.

Treehouse recommends three lessons a day. Whether that is a video, a quiz, or a code challenge. Any of those can add up to the three a day.

I for one feel like that is extremely little and that I would be wasting my money if I moved at that pace. So I can sometimes get through a whole section a day. (You know how when you open up a course and watch a video and it has all those dots showing progress at the top? Thats what I mean by a section. All of those dots).

Basically, when you are coding and you are forgetting what you did in the previous exercises you're doing too much. It's important to be able to remember even if treehouse highly recommends searching the databases for answers to things you don't know in coding. In reality you can't be searching all of the time and you should at least be remembering the basics they are teaching you.

Thanks. I agree it's too little. I will try one section a day. I'm trying to learn all of the courses on Treehouse.

When you mean one course... you DON'T mean going through one whole thing like Java Basics in a day, just a little part of it right?

I like to make notes and diagrams while working through the exercises, otherwise it seems like I can completely forget what I'd done just a few hours ago :)

As long as you remember to eat, sleep and poop; you should be fine. Occasional exercise is advised.
