I was wondering what you successful freelancers charge to make a website?

It really depends what you are being asked to do. For example, charges would be a lot higher if you were asked to make a forum-site from scratch with Ruby than they would if you were just asked to make a simple static webpage in HTML & CSS.

8,701 PointsHey Luke!
Let's say for a small business or a creative individual - a cool, static page.

13,564 PointsOnce again it depends on the some factors such as the amount of time needed to create the page and also how much you want to charge. If we are talking about a fairly time consuming job though we are talking at least a couple of hundred dollars.

13,564 PointsThis is quite a hard question to answer though as it is affected by so many different factors so the possibilities of payments could range into the tens of thousands in reality.

Taking it one step further, do you plan to pursue this as a full-time career? If so, you'll want to decide what you want to earn as your 'take home' (net income) should be.
