18,014 PointsHow many counting systems do computer programmers/developers typically use?
While in theory any counting system is possible, the octal notation system introduced in this video is completely new to me. So that means I have to at least have a basic understanding of
-decimal [aka base 10] -hexadecimal -binary -octal
Are there any other counting systems that I'll have to keep in mind when looking at numbers in computer programming?

33,235 PointsHi Aaron. I've done octal before. I don't think there are any other systems to bear in mind. I've not seen any, anyway. I've heard of binary, whereby 0 = off and 1 = on, but that's about it.
