Front End Web Development Techdegree Student 2,494 PointsHow long do people normally study for?
I am learning front-end web development, but find it hard to retain a lot of the information in these lessons. How do other people go about studying in one sitting, and how do you maintain focus and retain everything you just learned?

The Time estimate to learn a track is complete wrong, most of it should at least be 2 to 3 times the amount stated. Take notes, create your own cheatsheet, and don't forget to go back to codes you written and try to find ways to improve these by applying new techniques learned. If you have other people doing the same course, try code reviewing together. Most people will forget what they've learned the same day if the don't see any importance in what they just learned. Make sure you understand the basics first, the rest will eventually come.

6,919 PointsYes. I have been there, believe me it takes time. It took me 6 months to learn html, not because I hated it, but because it was very confusing at first. There will be a point in the learning process where all languages will just be a piece of cake. For me. It tool 1 year before I could actually enjoy designing websites and working with node.js for the backend databases sql. Now im learning python.

I also try to not just use treehouse, and watch videos again if needed. some of them are way too quick or glance over topics that might need more explaining.
take the first media query intro (please tell me there are more?) it ruined me, i know now i need them but have no idea how to really utilize them.
