How is the go-to-top button made like that on the page?

(example website)[https://makeawebsitehub.com/wordpress-website-checklist/] In the website, how is the top button made like that? I mean:

  1. It's invisible till someone scrolls down,
  2. Not appears abruptly,
  3. Takes maybe a few milliseconds to appear?

how to achieve that effect?

Oh, nowI understand, Javascript is behind all those mischiefs!!! But there's a problem,

  1. It's appearing so swiftly, not-so-good User Experience.
  2. It's scrolling back abruptly, just in a flash, not taking the user with it, maybe javascript will help me in that (dunno)
