How do I get past the first task considering compatibility issues?

I've tried doing the challenge in Chrome, FF and Safari, but can't get either innerText or textContent to work.

I get the same error messages for both:

line 7: newParagraph.innerText = "Javascript is enabled";

OR

line 7: newParagraph.textContent = "Javascript is enabled";

Bummer! The test of the newParagraph was 'Javascript is enabled' not 'JavaScript is enabled'

I'm not sure how to use the workaround provided for the edit button when I can't even get to the second task.

Erin,

You are doing this correctly with .innerText; the problem lies in how specific the challenge is being. It wants you to capitalize the 's' in JavaScript, where you have 'Javascript' with a lowercase 's'.

You have:

newParagraph.innerText = "Javascript is enabled";

You want:

newParagraph.innerText = "JavaScript is enabled";

Fix this (stupid) problem, and the challenge should let you pass! They can be truly ridiculous and picky sometimes...
