How do I correctly float items in <li> to the left with 45% width. gallery li { float: left; width: 45%;} not accepted.

My code looks like this: gallery li { float: left; width: 45%; } But the code challenge says it's not right.

I think I might have gone a little "blind" here, but I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong... Please help?

css/main.css
a {
  text-decoration: none;
}

#wrapper {
  max-width: 940px;
  margin: 0 auto;
}

img {
  max-width: 100%;
}

#gallery {
  margin: 0;
  padding: 0;
  list-style: none;
}

gallery li {
  float: left;
  width: 45%;
}

#logo {
  text-align: center;
  margin: 0;
}

h1, h2 {
  color: #fff;
}

nav a {
  color: #fff;
}

nav a:hover {
  color: #32673f;
}

h1 {
  font-family: Changa One, sans-serif;
  font-size: 1.75em;
  font-weight: normal;
}

You need to target the element with an id of gallery: #gallery li.

#gallery li {
  float: left;
  width: 45%;
}

You're just forgetting the # before gallery.
