359 PointsHow do I continue with the customization of MAMB?
I am unable to continue with the customization of MAMB on my Mac. I tried to post a screenshot of the problem unsuccessfully so let me try another way. In the video Zac opens Finder. Under Favorites you will see Dropbox, zgordon, All My Files, Airdrop… Well, Zac opens “zgordon", a customized file I have no equivalent to. He continues customizing MAMB within “zgordon”. My problem is I do not have and do not know how to create a similar file to open. So I cannot continue with the lesson. This occurs about 1:11 into the video. How do I continue the customization so I can continue with the tutorial? Thanks.

20,364 PointsHi Joel DiSanti,
Yeah, MAMP can be a little bit tricky, especially in the first setup. :) I am no expert on it (at all!) since I use another solution for my local server.
However, the little I can tell you that may help is this: That zgordon
is not any special folder that Zac created and forgot to mention or explain. It is just his user folder. There you can see he has his Documents folder, Downloads folder, etc., and then he created one for testing the sites he'll develop called testsites
(although you can call it whatever you want).
Then, it is also valid to say, I don't know 100% about any potential limitations of MAC (I use Windows) or alike, but I think you can create that folder wherever you want.
Just don't forget to change the folder from MAMP Preferences/Apache (he'll show just that a few seconds later in the same video), and then you'll be good to go.

359 PointsHi Nico,
Thank you for taking the time to respond. I haven’t had time to continue with the lesson today, but your response cleared up a lot of confusion for me. You even took the time to view the video. Very much appreciated.
Thanks again,
Joel
