You just need to use the continue
keyword and not the pass
keyword :)
def loopy(items):
# Code goes here
for item in items:
if item[0] == 'a':
continue
print(item)

P.S.: If you're still curious, you can do:
my_list = ["abc", "xyz"]
# Over here I'm taking the letter "a" from the first element of the list:
my_list[0][0]
