4,024 Pointshow can i get the exception if there arn't enough bars to support the laps requested by user
While running in eclipse i am getting the correct output of exception when there arn't enough bars to support the laps requested by user. But in editor it is showing below error: "Bummer! Make sure you throw a new IllegalArgumentException if the requested amount of laps would make the battery less than zero."
class GoKart {
public static final int MAX_BARS = 8;
private String color;
private int barCount;
private int lapsDriven;
public GoKart(String color) {
this.color = color;
}
public String getColor() {
return color;
}
public void charge() {
barCount = MAX_BARS;
}
public boolean isBatteryEmpty() {
return barCount == 0;
}
public boolean isFullyCharged() {
return MAX_BARS == barCount;
}
public void drive() {
drive(1);
}
public void drive(int laps) {
int barsRemain = MAX_BARS - barCount;
if (barsRemain<laps){
throw new IllegalArgumentException ("no more bars");
}
lapsDriven += laps;
barCount -= laps;
}
}

Java Web Development Techdegree Graduate 21,083 PointsThe number of bars left is stored in the barCount variable. Just use that directly. Your barsRemain variable contains the opposite: it's 0 when the battery is full, and equal to MAX_BARS when the battery is empty.
