How can I get my Illustrator fonts to show when exported to SVG and used for the web?

So I've created an icon for my web site using Adobe Illustrator. I use Adobe Illustrator CC, and synced a font. When I use that font, and then save as SVG, and embed in my website, the font doesn't get rendered. It just gets shown as a basic root font. Any help or suggestions?

Rob - Thanks for that. You answer is correct if someone is just looking to be able to use the Adobe type face in their site. I was trying to figure out why the graphical icon I created that used an Adobe font was not being rendered. When I included the web script in my <head> it still wouldn't work. I figured it out by when saving as an SVG, in the save options dialog box I changed the font settings to Outline.

The font will need to added to your website. Do you pay for the Creative Cloud sub and is the font from Adobe's Typekit service (or one included in illustrator)? If so, check out this link
