24,096 PointsHelpful instrument - But how to turn it on?
How to turn on the option to show width, height and alignment while working and creating objects?
For example, in the videos, when Mat creates objects, it automatically shows the dimensions of them while they are being created (box tool, drag and it shows the W:100px, H:100px right next to the box) or the alignment to other objects (with a green line while he moves the object).
Would be really helpful... :)

14,631 PointsCheck your preferences. I believe you go to File > Preferences. (I don't have Illustrator in this computer...) There should be a drop down menu and within that menu should be "Smart Guides". Within those settings make sure all but "Transform Tools" and "Construction Guides" are checked...

14,631 PointsI didn't even think about the "snap to grids" being an issue. Glad we could collaborate and figure it out!

24,096 PointsThanx Byron and Brett for providing the solution. You both get some karma points. "View -> Snap to Grid" was turned on. When it's turned on Smart Guides do not show. And that was the problem. For future reference, here is a solution. :)
