20,416 PointsHelp with Resume
I am currently pursuing career as a freelance web developer, I have gained skills and currently I feel I am ready to work . I am thinking about creating a online resume, I just want know what kind of things should I add in my resume.
Should I add some open source projects that I have done? Should I show my treehouse badges? I can't add any work portfolios because I used to work for a private company and I am not allowed share those websites that I have worked on.
As a beginner freelancer how should I build my resume to attract clients?
Thanks in advance.

Courses Plus Student 13,560 Pointsgreetings,
what I would says is to include personal work, any degrees relevant to computer and tell them the websites you made for the company (but don't share the code). honestly, if you're doing freelance work they normally don't care much about the code, its more about the product, but a company would want to see your code. as far as including treehouse, I think it should be fine, because treehouse is quite respected when it comes to learning how to code so it might show them that you are a legit developer.
also i noticed you have no business points so I'm assuming you didn't do the "become a freelancer" course on treehouse, it's actually a very good course (I'm almost done it myself) and I would definitely recommend it.
good luck, Kai

20,416 PointsHi Kai,
Thanks. I think your idea will work for me,I will add the sites that I worked on before initially, and I haven't done business course before because I wasn't thinking of doing freelancing at that time. Now I will definitely check those courses.

I was looking for an answer to this in the forums and this discussion came the closest, so I'll ask here. Can you please suggest a good way to phrase or format a reference to treehouse in my resume?

Courses Plus Student 13,560 PointsHey Nigel Ryan
Really sorry for taking so long to get back to you.
As for you question, in the resumΓ© state where you learned from and what it was you learned so in the case of treehouse says like "I learned HTML, CSS and javascript on treehouse which has helped me a lot in my works. You can check out my treehouse profile here (url of your page) to see what I've been learning".
Something like that :p.
Again, sorry for taking so long, hope it's stil of use, Kai
