2,058 PointsHelp with increment challenge please?
I watched the video previous to this challenge more than 5 times and I still don't know where to begin to with this challenge!! It's really frustrating!! Steve Hunter Craig Dennis
here is the question: Okay, so let's use our new isFullyCharged helper method to change our implementation details of the charge method. Let's make it so it will only charge until the battery reports being fully charged. Let's use the ! symbol and a while loop. Inside the loop increment mBarsCount.
public class GoKart {
public static final int MAX_ENERGY_BARS = 8;
private String mColor;
private int mBarsCount;
public GoKart(String color) {
mColor = color;
mBarsCount = 0;
}
public String getColor() {
return mColor;
}
public void charge() {
mBarsCount = MAX_ENERGY_BARS;
}
public boolean isBatteryEmpty() {
return mBarsCount == 0;
}
public boolean isFullyCharged() {
return mBarsCount == MAX_ENERGY_BARS;
}
}

10,365 PointsHi Isam,
inside the charge() method you should create a while loop.
- the while condition should say if not isFullyCharged()
- increment mBarsCount
Here as code spoiler :
public void charge() {
while (!isFullyCharged()) {
// use the isFullyCharged method and the ! sign
mBarsCount++;
// if is NOT fully charged
// increment the count
}
}
Let me know if you need more help :)

2,058 PointsThank you so much for your help Grigori, I got it now. My mistake was I was using if statement to put the condition inside the while method and that's where I got confused how to structure my code!!
