Python Python Basics (2015) Python Data Types list.remove()

Help please

Do I just do,

list.remove(['blue']) or list.remove[3] ( 3 for the position of the string in the list)

I AM SO CONFUSED it states, states and I am in a state one of confusion.

lists.py
states = [
    'ACTIVE',
    ['red', 'green', 'blue'],
    'CANCELLED',
    'FINISHED',
    5,
]

Just input the values You want to remove.

states = [
    'ACTIVE',
    ['red', 'green', 'blue'],
    'CANCELLED',
    'FINISHED',
    5,
]
states.remove(5)
states.remove(['red', 'green', 'blue'])

Yeah I got it these issues I am having are mostly due to communicating to server related issues.
