<?php
switch ($role) {
/* inside brackets is the condition - in this case it is $role -
we are going to compare values against this condition*/
case 'admin': // here we check whether $role == 'admin' if so we echo following sentence
echo 'As an admin, you can add, edit, or delete any post.';
break;
default: // this is default case - so if $role != 'admin' - following sentence will be printed out
echo 'You do not have access to this page. Please contact your administrator.';
break;
}
?>

43,651 PointsJust, delete opening and closing php tags around the switch statement - I included them so it would highlight php syntax. Also after comment "//change to switch statement " delete original if statement and leave just switch statement.
