926 PointsHELP "In your newly created drive method, increment the new lapsDriven variable by 1."
""Great! Now let's write a simple drive method. It should be public and not return anything. We'll start out basic, calling the drive method will make the GoKart drive a single lap.
In your newly created drive method, increment the new lapsDriven variable by 1. Use the incrementing shorthand to increase lapsDriven.""
class GoKart {
public static final int MAX_BARS = 8;
private String color;
private int barCount;
private int lapsDriven;
public drive; {
lapsDriven =+ 1;
}
public GoKart(String color) {
this.color = color;
}
public String getColor() {
return color;
}
public void charge() {
barCount = MAX_BARS;
}
public boolean isBatteryEmpty() {
return barCount == 0;
}
public boolean isFullyCharged() {
return MAX_BARS == barCount;
}
}

31,722 PointsYou want to use "lapsDriven += 1;" or "lapsDriven++;"
Either of those will add one to the variable lapsDriven

31,722 PointsYour method definition isn't valid.
See how the other methods have a return type specified (i.e. String, void, boolean) and a parameter list [i.e. "(String color)" or empty "()"]
Since your method returns no data, and accepts no parameters, try defining it with a void return type, and empty parameter list "()".
Also, you don't need a semicolon at the end of your method definition, just go straight into a open curly bracket ({)

476 PointsHi, just curious did you ever figure this out? I cannot figure out this problem either and I have something similar to you except for the void.
