14,311 PointsYou should use if statements to compare equality, but there are two ways to compare strings
if(string1 == string2) {
}
if(string1.equals(string2)) {
}
The == operator is used to determine if two references point to the same object, the equals method checks if the two strings contain the same characters. If that sounds complicated do not worry using the second option almost always is the right solution.
