171 PointsHaving trouble creating a variable that is the sum of two other variables.
They're asking me to do this and its giving me an error. "add a new variable named total. Then assign the sum of current_count and upcoming_releases to total. I'd like you to use the variables, but if you need to use the numbers, that's OK."
current_count = 14
planned = 5
upcoming_releases = 2
del planned
total = "current_count" + "upcoming_releases"

56,413 PointsUsing quotation marks like you have makes them text strings, not variable names. Adding two text strings will concatenate them (ie, splice them together end to end) resulting in the string "current_countupcoming_releases". Removing the quotation marks from that like will allow you to add two numeric variables together.
