7,485 PointsHave you tried pluralsight.com, how does it compare to teamtreehouse?
I have been using teamtreehouse for a couple of weeks and I am loving it, but I have been hearing some great things about pluralsight from friends and co-workers. Have any of you used pluralsight or currently using it along with treehouse?
- How does the courses compare?
- How does their path works as compared to the paths here on treehouse?
- How is the skill evaluation thingy?
To conclude, I won't be cancelling my treehouse subscription for a long time to come but I wouldn't shy away from also subscribing to pluralsight if its really worth the bucks.

Treehouse TeacherHi there! I did try Pluralsight for a while, but not in regards to programming. I was using it to study IT/networking topics. There are not really any "paths" like there are here. You simply choose among a list of video series and work through them. Also, I was on the basic account and did not have any skill evaluation to complete. I would dare say that while the material may be good there, it will also be entirely up to you how much you get from it.
Hope this helps!

Courses Plus Student 26,868 Pointsbut I am curious about the quality of education that they offer and how in-depth they are (been reading a lot about how they offer real depth on there content).
Pluralsight has some beginner's courses for every topics, but most of the materials there are for intermedia/advanced audience. Their courses are quite in-depth and comprehensive, as Most of them were lectured by industry experts.
My verdict is, if you're beginner, use Team Treehouse to learn the basics of the topics of your choice; then when you're ready to take your skill to the next level, Pluralsight is an excellent place to go.
PS: I should also mention that Microsoft is offering 3 months of free Pluralsight basic subscription for FREE fro student with @edu email through Microsoft Imagine.

7,485 PointsThanks for pitching in, I appreciate your feedback. That must have been a while back, I was just recently browsing through their feature list and it talked about :
Paths, Skill Measurement, Mentoring and a couple more of them.
I totally get it when you say that how its up to me about learning from it, but I am curious about the quality of education that they offer and how in-depth they are (been reading a lot about how they offer real depth on there content).
Pluralsight - it looks pretty tempting and I might end-up subscribing there as well but would love to hear about real life experiences before I do that.

2,745 PointsI was new to programming when I joined Pluralsight, but it didn't took hard for me to any learn concepts there, and they also have a path for learning a specific topic with a IQ checker, and now when I compare the basics java course of both the platforms I find Pluralsight much more easy and rewarding, robust in-depth content of pluralsight helped me a lot. The thing at which treehouse is good at is the production quality, while the content quality is not as robust as pluralsight I'm at treehouse on a trial. Thank you.
