14,345 PointsIt looks like you're not wrapping the link around the text meaning that the clickable area to follow the link does not include the text. Something like this
<li><a href="index.html">Portfolio</a></li>
will make the text 'Portfolio' clickable to go to index.html
It also looks like the closing tag on your third link there isn't formatted quite right. It doesn't look like the other ones.

229 PointsThank you, Shawn... I changed my closing 'a tag' to what you suggested and still getting the same error message <li><a href=”index.html”>Portfolio</a></li> <li><a href=”about.html”>About</a></li> <li><a href=”contact.html”>Contact</a></li>

229 PointsAccording to the training module there is supposed to be a 'closing A tag', however the challenge question indicates the correct answer without a 'closing A tag'.

14,345 PointsThere should be a closing tag, and you have one, but you have it before the text for the link.
<li><a href="index.html"></a>Portfolio</li>
For the text to be included in the link, the closing tag needs to follow the text.
<li><a href="index.html">Portfolio</a></li>

229 PointsYou are correct, however for the answer I had to delete the closing tag. I provided the feedback.
