It would be amazing to have a course about hand lettering techniques and translating those images digitally via scanning or photograph in Photoshop/Illustrator.

7,695 PointsThis Skillshare course has some good techniques, I don't know what their current subscriptions are or if they have a trial option.

In my experience, the more I worked with Illustrator the more solutions I stumbled across that helped me speed up the process of vectoring lettering or sketches.
Beefing up your Illustrator skills may be the best solution. This is one of my favorite resources.

8,747 PointsHave you taken the Illustrator course here? You could scan in any lettering you did & then trace the image like you do in the Spaceman exercise. Translating hand lettering into an actual typeface is trickier- I'm not sure you can do it with just Illustrator; I think you need a special font creator program for that.
