12,653 PointsGreat tutorial! What's the industry standard when it come to designing wireframes. Photoshop or Illustrator?
I've seen designers and Front-end web developer working with both tools. Personally, I'm used to work with Photoshop but I'm always open to change my workflow and work tools. What's more professional or has more potential when it comes to designing for web?

From what I've witnessed, there's no set industry standard. Where I work, most of the team uses Photoshop. However, there are a few people that use Illustrator or Sketch. It mostly comes down to personal preference.

28,149 PointsThey both have their strengths and weaknesses. But I agree with Jacob, it largely comes down to personal preference. Use what gets you the best results, because that's all that really matters.
It good to familiarize yourself with other tools though, so you at least know what you're missing, or not missing.

34,372 PointsI use Illustrator for basic wireframing (layouts, responsive features, user flows, etc.) and Photoshop for prototyping UI elements, or hi-res mockups for client approval.
One great feature in Illustrator that I often use in wireframing is duplicate artboards (shift+O to select artboards, alt+click and drag to duplicate artboard.)

Treehouse Guest TeacherHello Diego,
Like others have stated, it is very much a personal preference and you can accomplish the task with either one. I personally use Illustrator/Sketch for both Wireframes and Mockups.
I hope this helps.

12,916 PointsTo design Adobe Illustrator is more friendly, faster, more intuitive, with more precise controls to create and manage objects (manipulation and modification is very easy), experimentation of typography, etc. Added to this, it has other features, such as handling multiple pages or artboards...
