Python Python Basics (2015) Logic in Python Try and Except

got stuck on the task2 of the trial.py challenge (python basics)

I should build a function (2 parameters) which adds these 2 parameters as float together and returns the sum My Code:

def add (num1, num2): float(num1, num2) return(num1 + num2)

add(5,7)

doesnΒ΄t work. I do not understand why

You're really close. You have to use the float separately on each number. Try the code below:

def add (num1, num2):
  return float(num1) + float(num2)

Thank you Jennifer :-) ! Now it works
